POCARI SWEAT TOUCHES DOWN
April 27, 2007

Pocari Sweat was successfully launched last April 27, 2007, capped by a press launch and conference held at the Benkay Japanese Restaurant at the Dusit Hotel Nikko, Manila. More than 50 media friends as well as guests from the Japanese Embassy and government attended the event.

The beautiful and pleasant Issa Litton hosted the launch, which started at 10:30 AM. It was followed by a serving of authentic Japanese brunch along with an unlimited supply of Pocari Sweat, which delighted the attendees.

Mr. Hirofumi Inoue kicked-off the press launch by explaining Otsuka’s history and, later on, its activities in the country and plans for expansion. He later on introduced the guest of honor, Dr. Norito Araki, the Health Attaché of the Japanese Embassy. He commended Otsuka’s efforts in introducing Pocari Sweat in the country and finally making it available to Filipinos.

Speakers for the event included OPPI’s Sales and Marketing Director Mr. Pol Dimerin, who discussed Otsuka’s promotion plan for Pocari Sweat, and Medical Director Dr. Benjamin Co, who talked about the scientific and medical advantages of the product.

The launch was highlighted by OPPI’s donation of Php 100,000 worth of Pocari Sweat to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as part of its corporate social responsibility. The donation will greatly aid the DSWD in its health programs. Representing the department is Ms. Aida Fresco, who graciously received the donation.

A new milestone has marked the 10th year anniversary of OPPI with the launching of its first consumer brand – Pocari Sweat.

So go ahead… SWEAT! It’s Cool, It’s Natural, It’s Healthy.
