Last August 29, 2010, people were all raging to be fit. Students, professors and running enthusiasts were all in “fitness mode” and were all ready to sweat for more. That beautiful Sunday morning – over 1,500 people joined the University Run that covered 10 kilometers of running ground as they strode on the concrete roads of Roxas Boulevard. The south bound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Luneta to EDSA Fly-over was closed to vehicles and the road was solely dedicated to the flood of runners. POCARI SWEAT Hydration Stations were seen every after 2 kilometers along the race route providing runners proper hydration.
Winners were mostly from the San Sebastian College and the Far Eastern University. There were also some Kenyan runners who bagged the 1st place of the 5-kilometer race category.
All in all, the POCARI SWEAT University Run was festive from start to finish providing good hydration for all the runners.
The event also helped the young generation realize that the stress of modern day life – with its growing complexity, has been depriving many people a healthy lifestyle. |
